Year 9 Options

Choosing GCSE subjects is a significant step, and Year 9 pupils begin this journey in the Spring Term. It’s a moment where pupils start to shape their own pathway, think about what inspires them, and decide which subjects they want to study in more depth.

We make sure this process feels supportive, structured and positive. Pupils are introduced to the different subjects through guidance in school, conversations with staff who know them well, and dedicated experiences that help them understand what each course involves.

Options Evening

Parents are invited into school for a clear and informative options evening.

The choices pupils make now help them build a curriculum that plays to their strengths and keeps future routes open — whether they are thinking about further study, apprenticeships or longer-term ambitions.

Our aim is to ensure that every pupil leaves the options process feeling informed, confident and ready for the next stage of Key Stage 4
