Free School Meals
Your child may be eligible for free school meals if you receive any of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit (with annual net earned income below £7,400)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (without Working Tax Credit and annual gross income below £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after stopping Working Tax Credit)
How to Apply
Applying for free school meals is straightforward:

- School assistance: We can provide paper forms and help with completion if needed
- Documentation: You’ll need to provide evidence of your benefit status
