The Friends of the Chantry School has been in existence since the school was formed in 1963. It has 2 main aims:
• Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;
• Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
The Friends support the school in many ways. This can be through donations as a result of fundraising or by acting as a ‘Parent Voice’ to the school on developments that take place. Recently, the Friends made a significant donation towards the school’s new minibus.
Anyone can be a Friend. All parents, carers, guardians and teachers are automatically members of the Friends, and anybody else willing to offer appropriate support or help can also become a member.
We meet, approximately monthly, on a Thursday evening at 7.30, usually at the school. Various events are planned through the year that the Friends either organise entirely, or offer support to.
We also run a ‘200 Club’ where for £12 a year, entrants are eligible for the monthly £50 prize draw. This is doubled in December. An application form can be found here.
